Link in bio for creators and musicians

Creators and musicians have a lot of places to send people and a profile that holds very few links. A good link page makes the right thing easy to find at the right moment, whether that’s a new release, a ticket link or a newsletter.

Lead with what’s new

Put your newest release, video or episode at the very top while it’s fresh. People who come from a post about it should find it without searching. When something newer arrives, replace it, and move the older one lower or remove it.

For musicians

  • The new release: a pre-save or a link that opens on the streaming service people prefer.
  • Tour dates and tickets: one link to your list of shows.
  • Merch: your shop, or a few best-sellers.
  • A mailing list: the one channel you own, unlike a social platform that can change.
  • Your streaming profiles: one tidy link for each place people listen.
  • Booking and press: a contact address and a press kit for promoters and journalists.

For video and podcast creators

  • The latest episode or video, and a link to the start of a series for newcomers.
  • A newsletter, for the people who want to hear from you directly.
  • Your community: a group chat, forum or server.
  • Support: a tip jar or membership, if you offer one.
  • Recommendations: the gear or tools you use, labelled honestly.

Be open about sponsored and affiliate links

If a link earns you money, for example through a sponsor or an affiliate programme, say so in the label or next to it. Rules about this differ by country and platform, so check what applies to you. Honest labelling also protects the trust your audience has in you.

A release-day checklist

  1. Put the new release at the top of your page and give it a clear label.
  2. Highlight it for a few days. In Klyka, the spotlight does this for 24 hours, 48 hours or a week.
  3. Share a story card. Klyka can make a ready-made image of your page for Instagram and WhatsApp stories.
  4. Add a QR code to posters, merch or packaging if you have them.
  5. Open the page on your phone and tap every link.
  6. After a week, move the release down and put the next thing on top.

Keep one path you own

Followers on a platform belong, in practice, to that platform. A mailing list belongs to you. Put the sign-up on your page, and give people a reason to join: early access, a behind-the-scenes note, or the first look at a release.

Take it with you

Choose a tool that lets you keep your address and move your page if you ever change your mind. For more ideas on what to include, read what to put on your link in bio and how to get more people to open your link.
