How to make a link in bio page in five minutes
You need a few links, a photo and about five minutes. The tool matters less than the choices you make before you open it, so this guide starts with those.
Step 1: Decide the one thing you want most
Before adding anything, ask what you most want a visitor to do. Buy something? Watch the new video? Join the newsletter? That answer goes first. People tap the top of a list far more than the bottom, so order is a decision, not an accident.
Step 2: Collect your links
Write down the full address of every link you might include, and open each one on your phone to make sure it works. Check that links to shops and videos open properly on mobile and don’t ask visitors to log in first.
Step 3: Choose a tool
Many tools exist. A few questions help you choose:
- Do I need to create an account, and why?
- How many links can I add for free, and what do extra ones cost?
- Can I see how many people tap each link?
- Can I import a page I already have, so I don’t retype everything?
- Can I keep or move my page if I change my mind?
Step 4: Write short, clear labels
A label should say what happens when someone taps. “Shop the new collection” beats “Link 1”. “Book a free call” beats “Click here”. Start with a verb where you can, and keep labels short enough to fit on one line of a phone screen.
Step 5: Pick a look that fits you
Choose a theme that matches your profile photo and your brand, and favour readability: dark text on a light background or the other way round, never low-contrast pastel on pastel. One accent colour is enough.
Step 6: Put it in your bio and check it
Copy the address of your page into your profile on every platform. Then open it on a phone, on mobile data rather than Wi-Fi, and tap every link once. Do this logged out too, so you see what a stranger sees.
Making one with Klyka
If you want to try Klyka: open the app or the web version, choose “Start a new page”, add your name, a photo and your links, pick a theme and tap Publish. You get an address to put in your bio. If you already have a page somewhere else, choose “I’m on Linktree” instead and paste its address: your links, name, tagline and photo come along.
Five links and six themes are free and you don’t need an account. Extra links unlock with a short ad, and a few extras such as your own short address are one-time purchases.
If you already have a page somewhere else
You don’t need to retype it. Many tools let you import from a page you already have, and you can switch in a few minutes. Check that your old page stays up until you’ve updated your profiles, so no one lands on a dead link in between.
A good first version
Your first version doesn’t have to be perfect. Start with your name, a photo and three to five links, publish it, and look at it on your phone. You can improve the labels, the order and the look later, and you’ll learn far more from a live page than from planning an ideal one.
Keep it alive
A link page that never changes goes stale quickly. Once a month, open it and check that every link still works, remove what you no longer promote, and move your current best link to the top. See what to put on your link in bio for ideas.
